Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Becky C portraitSo, who are you anyways?
My name is Becky. I love Jesus, chips and salsa, playing guitar, anything purple and, of course, photography. Being married to a military man has taken us all over the country from North Carolina to Alaska and a few places in between. Currently we are in Colorado Springs and we love it here! My name is “Mama” in the eyes of my twin 2 year old girls who keep me on my toes. Always.

My love of people photography started when I was in jr. high and high school. I would take my camera to school every chance I got just to take pictures of my friends. I still have many of those pictures to this day. Creating portraits is very important to me. Each portrait is a window that gives us a glimpse into that person’s (or those people’s) souls. A collection of images taken over the years captures the essence of a person’s personality and an idea of who they are by their body language and expressions on their face.

What is it you are you trying to do here?
I capture emotions and create lasting memories through the lens of my camera. I want my clients to have not just an image but an artistic portrait that they will keep and treasure for years to come. I also want my clients to have a fun memory of the experience we shared. Portrait sessions can be stressful for families, but I like to have fun, make friends and put everyone at ease. Families change and children grow up faster than the blink of an eye. It is my desire to assist my clients in preserving those precious memories.

Your style…what is it?
My style? I love bright colors and sharp, clean edited images. I love to capture my subjects in a simple environment with minimal props. To me, an amazing portrait captures the expressions and emotions of the subject. The props, outfits and environment are like icing on the cake. Meant to enhance the end product rather than take center stage.

You’re a people person, aren’t you?
My ultimate dream is to be able to build relationships with my clients and their families in order to help them build a visual history of their growth as a family over the years. I want to take a client from engagement, to their wedding, to capturing those precious first days of life when they have their first (second, third, etc…) baby! I want to preserve the memories of your family as it grows and of your children as they pass through the various seasons of childhood and finally that final exciting milestone at their senior portrait session.

A final farewell!
I hope this gives you an idea of who I am and why I may be a great fit as your family photographer. Give me a call or send me a message and let me share how I can serve you!
